In what might turn out to be surprise of the year in world of sport if Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor announce highly talked about fight between the two of them. According to several reports, the contract has already been signed and Mayweather is likely to announce the fight in a couple of weeks time. The possible date is muted as early as 9th September 2017 in MGM Grand Garden, Las Vegas. 
 
Although many experts from both Boxing and MMA has rubbished reports and even UFC president Dana White shot down it as a stupid rumour but McGregor did little to make the rumour go away when he posted a picture of “Mayweather vs McGregor” graphic poster. Mayweather has not been in the ring since beating Andre Berto back in September 2015 and he has been out of action for best part of last 8 months. Floyd Mayweather’s trainer father has also suggested that his son is looking at the possible fight between him and that MMA fighter but its not agreed yet.

If the fight were to be made it will be a strictly boxing match and Conor McGregor will have shed atleast 25lbs to fight Mayweather. If that is the case there is no way Conor McGregor can hurt Mayweather when 49 other professionals boxers could not do. Having said that fight between the two makes alot of sense as far as Money is concerned and Mayweather is looking for another $100 million pay day in a fight where he will dictate everything.

Having said that this is a proper mismatch and it might very well be the case of both fighters are using each others name to promote something else. This looks more like a dream than reality but looking at the money to be made from this potential fight and virtually no threat to Mayweather in terms of challenge since it will be a boxing fight we can not really rule it out.
